Mercy sets next Spirit of Women event

As part of its “Spirit of Women” programming initiative, Mercy Hospital will host its next free women’s health symposium, “ Get What You Need Out Of Life, Part 3: Get Smarter, Get Stronger,” on Thursday, April 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Independence Civic Center.

“Get Smarter, Get Stronger” will be designed in a “game-show” format, with audience members competing for prizes as they test their knowledge about various women’s health issues.

Health topics to be addressed during the evening include, “Building Your Brain Power at Any Age”; “Inspiring Women to Care About Stroke”; and “Strength, Balance and Flexibility.” The programs are designed for women of all ages and will be interactive, with an entertainment built in.

The event also will feature the launch of a new Spirit of Women community walking program, with special giveaways for each person in attendance.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served, and She-Power Consumer Rewards Program memberships will be available.

Admission to the event is free of charge, but a dvance registration is requested by April 4. To register or for more information, call Joanne Cox, 620-332-3248, or Michelle Kleeman, 620-330-8237, in the Mercy Marketing Office, or send an e-mail to spirit.women@mercy.net.
