Mercy Foundations Launch Online Shopping Mall Fundraising Program |
Mercy
Hospital Foundation of Fort Scott has
joined a fundraising program that allows community members and friends to
support Mercy throughout the year just by making their online purchases
through the shoppingmall. Mercy Health Center Foundation, in conjunction
with the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, Fundlink, LLC, and more
than 1,300 major retailers, have created a special Web site where supporters
enter before visiting the online stores of retailers such as Target®,
Macy’s®, Best Buy®, Dell®, Staples® and Expedia®. These merchants then
donate a portion of each sale in the form of a royalty to the foundation
automatically.
The shoppingmall functions like any other online shopping vehicle except now
Mercy Health Center Foundation benefits from the experience. Here’s how it
works:
1. Simply click on theshoppingmall link on this page; 2. Select the online store you want to visit; 3. You will be prompted to select your state (Kansas) and then select the
organization that will benefit from your shopping experience - Mercy Health
Center Foundation of Fort Scott. It takes just one extra step when shopping
online for the foundation to earn contributions.
Each week, thousands of consumers are purchasing business, household and
personal items and services on the Internet. Now these same shoppers have a
way to contribute to Mercy just by making these purchases through the
shoppingmall.
“This is such an easy way for our communities to support Mercy by going
about business as normal on the Web,” said Carla Farmer, Mercy Health
Center’s Director of Development. “Imagine if everyone who buys office
supplies, purchases a computer, downloads music, or makes airline or hotel
reservations online, goes through this virtual mall, what an extraordinary
impact it will have on our Foundation.”
