Dr. Jay Allen, a long-time
family practitioner with Mercy Physician Group, is expanding his practice in
Linn County. Dr. Allen is now seeing patients at the Pleasanton Family Practice
on a full-time basis.
Dr. Allen has cared for patients at the clinic in the past on a part-time schedule.
With the increased growth that the clinic is experiencing, he made the decision to
devote more time serving residents of the region.
“I grew up in Linn County and have close ties to many people there,” said Dr.
Allen. “With the growth in population the region is experiencing, I found it
difficult to meet patient needs on a part-time basis. It is exciting to be a
part of the economic growth of the county and also part of Mercy’s plans to build
a new facility in 2008,” Dr. Allen added.
Mercy announced plans early in 2008 to build a new clinic on a ten acre parcel
of land adjacent to the new Highway 69 roadway.
Additionally, clinic hours were expanded recently with the clinic open Monday
through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The clinic is accepting new patients
and as always, walk-ins are welcome.
