John Woodrich, president and CEO of
Mercy Health System of Kansas, welcomes advanced registered nurse practitioners Donna
Dewey and Lynieta Leisure as the providers for the new Urgent Care at Mercy.
The center, which opened Sept. 4, sees on the average of 30 patients daily for minor
illnesses and injuries ranging from minor respiratory infections, sprains and
strains, minor lacerations, insect bits and rashes, and suture removal. The center
also offers physician back up with minor x-ray and lab services available.
“We are pleased to provide this service to our community knowing that it will be
staffed by highly-trained and experienced nurse practitioners who have lived in
this community for many years,” said Woodrich. “Donna and Lynieta treat the whole
individual with exceptional care and compassion.”
“This promises to be a fun evening of learning and laughing,” said Leah Lewis, Mercy Health
Center director of education. “After all, aren’t we all a little curious about who will get the
answers right or wrong?”
Dewey, who has 28 years experience as a nurse and 11 years experience as a nurse practitioner, was
previously a provider at the Medical Plaza of Arma, in Arma, KS, a rural clinic operated by Mercy.
